Antique Applique

This antique applique was the highlight of the DJ Retreat Friday Night Show and Tell. And the best news - it's being offered as a free 'Block of the Month' here. Each installment is free for one month and then is available for purchase on the site shop. I just checked and the first installment hasn't moved to the shop even though the second installment is out. Enjoy!

This is incredible. Any history on it at all? How many blocks across is it?

This quilt was recently acquired and there wasn't any history shared. Best I can tell from piecing my pictures together, the quilt is 5 x 5 - 25 blocks. The owner thinks the center block (completly disintegrated) might have been a signature block. She also commented that she is discovering many surprises thru the pattern-making process. I think all the fabrics are solids. I didn't have much time to study the quilt; but, looking thru my pictures, I don't see any prints.

I'm so glad to see more photos of this quilt, I've been printing out the patterns too. It's so deserving of being reproduced.

I really enjoy looking at this. I think I could sit for quite a long time and get lost in the majesty of it.
