Indulging the Quilt Muse

I have the best part of three days to myself.  Granted, there are some time obligations, but the majority of the calendar is open.  I'm opting to fill those hours sewing.  Anybody else planning on indulging their quilt muse this weekend?  If so, leave a comment!  If you're so inclined, email me Monday afternoon with your progress.  I'll post a role call of accomplishments on Monday night.

I think I will finish up a few little things and then start dreaming up a new quilt

I am trying to get the blocks that have been sitting on my design wall into a top.

I plan on playing in the sewing room. We try to stay close to home on holiday weekends. Too many cars on the road.

Love that stack of quilts in the picture!

Now that the new batch of yogurt is made, quiltmaking is at the top of the list! It will be a long time before I have another school holiday and a long weekend to stitch!

Thanks, Christine. The picture was taken at an antique quilt vendor from the Paducah show this spring. Doesn't one of the quilts look like Lori's 'Cheddar Cheese and Crackers'?

Of course I am planning on locking myself in my sweat room...but will 'they' find me is the question? You know those not so visible creatures called dust bunnies, sink scum and floor splatters...not to mention the menacing weeds lurking outside....
Wish me luck!

Count me in; the cool weather has me in a sewing frame of mind. There's lots of baseball this weekend, and a party, but I hope to produce one finished top, and one bound little quilt. I'm actually pretty close to completion on these anyway so it should be an easy goal!
Great idea!

I've been looking forward to this weekend for ages. I spent all day yesterday washing and pressing lots of new fabric that had piled up over the last few months. At last, I found my sewing machine and went back to piecing indigo Ohio Stars. Also sewed binding on a little quilt and now need to hand stitch it down. Plus, I've fallen behind in my hand pieced stars so I hope to do some catching up on those. But, I stayed up until 2am with the sewing so I am dragging today. I will check in on Monday.

Finishing up a baby quilt for my next door neighbor. Just a bit more machine quilting for the border, then add the binding (all by machine) and I'll check off another UFO.

Well, of course I am sewing! Trying to finish up a Maverick Stars, and wondering how to do a border. I was up and AT THE QUILT SHOP by 8:00 am as they were having a special sale! Only cost me $24.00 and came home with 5 lovely yards! My day started and continued GOOD!

I have today to myself, and it's applique and some modification of the last big wide Les Fleurs block. Are those your quilts in the photo? I just LOVE the top one with black and white gingham, that seems somewhat unusual to have such restrained colors...love it.

I can't believe it's Sunday afternoon already. I've been quilting on a quilt since Friday night and it's been a real challenge as the quilt is totally out of my normal range and I had no idea how to quilt it. Lesson learned - do not put a quilt top together if you don't know how you're going to quilt it. This has not been fun for me! I love machine quilting, and I'm not bad at it, but this looks like a beginner's work. Now I'm just determined to get it done so I can do something I love.
