If you remember my find in Iowa a few months ago, it finally has fulfilled it's purpose.
The inside of the box was quite rough. Varnishing still left it that way, even after three coats, so I decided to line the box. While looking for the right fabric, I came across some scraps of low- loft poly batting. I have no recollection of why it was there, but there was just enough to do the job.

Terrific display - I love that primitive look. You catch a nice glimpse of each quilt.
Perfect showcase for your doll quilts!
What a great find and a beautiful way to display your doll quilts! I have mine in a basket! I am your new follower. Greetings from Athens-Greece
I love vintage wood anything! What a great display case. : )
What a good use for the wood crate. I have a different style of wood crate with some quilts in it but not on end like yours. I think I will look for another crate to use similar to what you have done.
Your box is the perfect solution for all your mini quilts. They look great in there!
I am so relieved that it is not a dolly coffin..I love it just the way it is:)
I love your box and it's lining. About 35 years ago, I was the recipient of some boxes that had been in our family for over 60 years ago. I made linings from sheets that matched my decor and used some kind of glue to hold them in place at the rim.
I just love highly functional items like these boxes that have been around for over 100 years. I'm glad you rescued yours.
Hmm.... I think I might have a box I could use like this - thanks for sharing your very creative display idea! Love it.
great fix for such a nice display piece!
Loved seeing the quilts from our trip on your blog.....can you believe we actually saw those lovely beauties! I hope other quilters travel to DC and visit the Smithsonian Quilt Collection....ladies, it was better than the darkest, best chocolate in the world!
What a great find! Perfect to show off your precious doll quilts! Love primitive boxes, too!

I am catching up on blog reading and am just seeing this. I love your box of little quilts. Very colorful! You will have to show us the quilts sometime. It was good to see you in Wisconsin (and DC). I hope we can connect at some more quilt events.
