Look at the surprise out my hotel window here in the heart of
Atlanta - concrete overpass on I75. The design has great potential. I think I might need to work this into a scrappy doll quilt - much better use of the design than a skateboard surface.

I've saved the best for last - this yummy indigo string star from the antique mall in Shipshe! What a beauty. It's scrunched up hanging on the wall as you enter. Wish I could have seen this piece layed flat.

Great string pieced star...my favorite. Really like you appliqué block too. K
Oh my! I hope you feel better soon. One sure sign of spring is a high pollen count.
I think I really need to make another sting star quilt and this time the background indigo. It is striking!!
I can't believe you are putting all that applique work for a backing!! It is very nice!!
My goodness, that is quite a backing!
That's a skateboard surface? Was the designer's mother a quilter? : )
Oh, love that antique quilt. I wish I could find some of that indigo fabric to border some vintage blocks I have.
The blocks are great. I like the pie looking flowers. The string quilt is neat. the blue really does compliment the quilt. I wonder what the asking price was? I am tempted.
The applique block for the backing is beautiful.....I can't imagine what the front looks like! Holy cow!
And that overpass pic is very cool....the pattern is great! Love the stars quilt you found.....very striking!
I really love the blue string quilt..such a find.
sorry to hear about the allergies - the one down side to spring!
That skateboard park is really cool!
Love, love the string star. That blue sets off the scraps so well.
Your applique' block is beautiful.
I love that star quilt. What is it about an indigo background that is so appealing?
Applique for the back of a quilt. Must be a very special quilt to deserve that special big block.
I heard Atlanta is covered in a yellow haze these days and it's coming our way. Did I read it right that you are doing that applique for the BACK of a quilt? And...love the string star. The colors are really great.
Hey... no biggy, I'm ALWAYS late in chatting! HA! THE point is you needed to show us all this 'good stuff' so we could be inspired!!
I LOVE that string star block/quilt, just beautiful.
I really want to make a quilt like that but am so fearful I won't get the colors/scale right....wish I had a bolt of that blue, its beautiful.
thanks for sharing
hope your feeling better, allergies here are bad too, I had a few days I didn't even go outside and put on the a/c
kathie
Your quilt back is going to be very special. I like when there is added interest when you turn a quilt over or fold it up.
