Quilt Content?

Piecing has taken a backseat to a summer visit from my daughter & grandkids.  This past weekend was packed with activity sans kiddoes.  On Saturday, we visited our local Amish area where quilt gardens and murals are at summer peak.  You can find details here.  Our tour included just this one stop - mural and quilt garden.

Thus ends the quilt content of this post!

Sunday we visited the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, MI where an exhibit of Chihuly glass is on display through Sept. 30.  It was a beautiful day - the sunshine danced off the glass.  Following are a few of my favorite installations!

Now that their visit is over, I'm looking forward to the change of seasons - cool temps, bright leaves, mums, and ... pumpkins - I love my pumpkin patch!

Beautiful. I have been seeing a few posts about the Frederick Meijer Gardens. I am going to have to make a trip over there before the glass display is gone. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds like wonderful tours, but my favorite photo is the last one of your garden.
With all the Autumn's I've lived through, 52, I guess, I've never seen a GREEN pumpkin. I guess I thought that they started out orange ! Never really thought about it at all, but I can see how you'd love to go out and check on their progress !

We didn't plant orange pumpkins this year - just white and blue. I think orange pumpkins start out orange.

It looks like a beautiful place to visit.

I think you are rushing summer a bit, don't you think? ;) We had such a long wet, windy spring that I'm really enjoying summer!!

I for one can't wait until Autumn! Great photos...I had some white pumpkins growing this year but something got to them a few weeks ago. Guess I'll try again next year!

I love Chihuly glass! He exhibited two summers in a row (very rare) at Fairchild Gardens in Miami, FL but they didn't have the waterfall or the blue "starburst." His glass in the sunshine is just gorgeous - Fairchild also had a night viewing.
