Look at this beautiful antique log cabin waiting for adoption at the antique mall in my hometown. I didn't have a ruler with me, but I think the logs are 1/4". It's a top, so the block backing is visible - foundation pieced. Some of the fabrics are shredding, but what a beauty! The brights look like silks. There is an embroidered name on one of the logs (picture at left). You never know what you'll find.

That's such an unusual color scheme for a log cabin. It's so graphic between the lights and blacks. I'd really like to see that one in person. thanks for the picture! Happy New Year, Claire W.
It's wonderful! Thanks for sharing :0)
So does this mean it did not come home with you?
Makes me wonder how long someone spent making this gem.
I love log cabins that have renegade logs on the wrong side! They add so much to the quirky/fun/personality of the quilt! This one is fantastic! Is it coming home with you!?! :o)
Wow! Did it find its way home with you?!
what a beautiful quilt...have to add it to my inspiration file for this year. I have plans on making a few log cabin quilts this next year , amazing how many different settings/looks this block can have?
Happy New Year to both of you!
Kathie
What a great quilt! Such tiny little logs.
Love the setting on this - very dramatic. And 1/4" logs - oh my! I have done 1/2" logs but what a fun challenge it would be going smaller.
Thank you for sharing this!
Happy New Year wishes - may each day be filled with creativity.
Oh it's fabulous! Even in it's shredded state it is still a work of art.
Heel veel GELUK in 2013 from The Netherlands!!

TIny logs - but the color really works.
So did you bring it home with you??
Have a wonderful 2013 - thanks for all your sharing and inspiration.
This one didn't come home with me. Would have made a nice Christmas present to myself!
